Technologies Used:

  • Robotic Surgery:
  • Some of the urologic procedures that can be performed through robotic-assisted techniques include:
    • Prostatectomy - A prostatectomy is the surgical removal of the prostate gland, commonly used to treat prostate cancer. A traditional open prostatectomy can include an incision up to ten inches long and a high risk of incontinence and erectile dysfunction. By using the robotic approach, the patients have a quicker recovery, less blood loss, minimal discomfort, and smaller incisions
    • Cystectomy - A cystectomy is the removal of part or all of the bladder and may be performed to treat bladder cancer. A traditional open cystectomy usually means a larger incision, more pain, and a longer recovery.
    • Kidney surgery - Kidney surgery may be used to remove cancerous tumors or correct obstructions (plyeoplasty). Open techniques for this procedure require a large incision (often including removal of the lower rib) thus resulting in more pain and a prolonged recovery time.
  • Microwave Therapy for BPH
    • This simple and safe office procedure can help relieve the obstructive symptoms of an enlarged prostate without the need for surgery.
  • MRI Fusion prostate biopsy
    • By merging pre-biopsy MRI images with real-time ultrasound, we can target specific lesions in the prostate that are concerning for cancer and minimize the need for repeat biopsies.
  • Botox, Interstim, and Urgent PC for treatment of OAB
    • When traditional medicines fail, we offer several treatment options designed to improve the symptoms of an overactive bladder (OAB) such as increased urinary frequency, sudden urge to urinate, and urinary leakage.
  • IMRT for treatment of prostate cancer
    • Radiation therapy that uses CT guidance to target the prostate and destroy cancer cells.
  • PlasmaButton™ and Laser therapy for BPH
    • BPH therapy aimed at relieving obstructive urinary symptoms such as weak urinary flow and hesitancy by safely removing prostate tissue.  Unlike a traditional TURP procedure, there is minimal bleeding and thus a quicker recovery.
