Ashish Behari, M.D.

Dr. Ashish Behari Urologist Bucks County

Dr. Ashish Behari feels it is important to form a partnership with his patients and to educate them about their urologic condition. As a cancer specialist, he understands the immense stress that is involved in dealing with cancer and strives to set his patient’s minds at ease about their treatment decisions. By spending more time in discussing both the medical and personal side of cancer, he creates a relaxing environment in which patients can talk freely about their diagnosis and come to an educated decision about their specific treatment plan.

While at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), he developed his surgical skills and expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, as well as rare adrenal tumors. While surgery is his specialty, Dr. Behari also explores in depth the non-surgical treatment of urological cancers (such as radiation or chemotherapy) in a team approach with his patients. He communicates freely with other cancer specialists in order to configure a plan of care specifically tailored to each patient.

Dr. Behari originally practiced urology in Washington, DC where he instructed urologists in training at Georgetown University Hospital residency program and was awarded teacher of the year in 2008. He was Vice Chairman of Urology at the largest hospital in Washington DC, The Washington Hospital Center. In 2013, he joined Urology Care Alliance- Bucks County as the first and only fellowship trained Urologic Oncologist in Bucks County. Dr Behari has already performed well over 500 robotic and laparoscopic surgeries for prostate, kidney, adrenal, and bladder cancer.

Dr. Behari graduated from the combined 6 year accelerated medical program between Penn State University and Jefferson Medical College. He then went to Washington DC where he completed his urology residency and a Urologic Oncology Fellowship from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institute of Health (NIH). Dr. Behari is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO).
